Health minister says province still on track to solve family doctor shortage

B.C.’s health minister says the province is still working towards its promise, that every British Columbian will have a doctor by 2015.

“It’s still the goal and it’s still attainable. The significant number of more doctors that are being trained in B.C. … the big challenge, I think, still relates to communities, particularly in rural British Columbia, that are underserviced.”

Speaking on CKNW’s The World Today Weekend, Mike de Jong says B.C. continues to put more money into training.

That promise was made back in June 2012.
