New broadband network to help emergency responders

The federal government is following through on a promise to set up a secure national mobile broadband communications network for the use of emergency responders.

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews released details in Vancouver, admitting it could be several years before the network is up and running.

Vancouver Police Chief Jim Chu says the system will also be harmonized with the united states.
