Watts declines to offer advice to Premier over unpopularity

With Premier Christy Clark still low in the polls, one of the province’s most well-liked politicians says she doesn’t have any advice.

Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts was asked what she would tell the premier:

“I wouldn’t presume to give advice to the premier. I think that she has selected people around her that have lots of experience and hopefully they’ll be advising her and working with her to do the best that they can do for British Columbia.”

Watts adds she’s not a member of the BC Liberal Party.

“I’m not a member of any party. I’ve done that specifically because as a mayor of a city, it’s really important to make sure you’re representing everyone, regardless of political stripe.”

Watts had been rumoured as a contender for the Liberal leadership bid.
