The attempt by Geoff Meggs to jump into Provincial politics is being met with disdain by an NPA Councillor.
George Affleck says it is disappointing Meggs won’t step down to try to run for the NDP.
Affleck wonders if Meggs is using his job as Councillor as a fall back plan, “It is really a, I think maybe it is a retirement plan for him, I’m not sure. It’s really, to me, a wrong way to run politics. As far as I am concerned you ran six months ago, you ran for Vancouver City Council, why are you now considering leaving? It’s inappropriate.”
He says if Meggs is successful he will leave Vancouver taxpayers with the bill for a costly by-election.
