A handful of hockey fans are fed up with the labour dispute between the N-H-L and the Players’ Association, as a possible lockout looms.
And they have a new idea to catch the team owner’s attention and change the tide.
T. J. Tully is an Oilers fan who has set up a website called you-have-two-weeks-dot-com.
He says, “the owners have all these others businesses, so we’re saying we’re not going to support anything else that you own if there’s a lockout. So montreal, they own Molson, we’re not going to buy any Molson products. Our website has probably over 100 companies that all these owners own, and we’re basically saying we’re boycotting every one of those companies until the hockey season starts.”
In Vancouver, for example, Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi also owns the Sandman Hotel chain and the Shark Club.
Tully says if there’s enough pressure by the September 15th contract deadline, he hopes the league will buckle and fans will see the puck drop.
