There have long been calls to not only toll the new Port Mann Bridge, but other structures across the region to make it fair and equitable.
“No way” says the Chair of the Translink Mayor’s Council.
Richard Walton is also North Vancouver District Mayor.
He says tolling all structures “doesn’t make any sense.”
“If the intent is to try and share the cost throughout the region through development of new infrastructure, I think you need to do it by developing some kind of broad and fair road pricing or distant pricing model.”
Walton also doesn’t believe the Sea to Sky Highway should be tolled – because he says there’s no alternate route.
