Before the Missing Women Inquiry officially wrapped up, a bizarre gift was given to two prominent Toronto lawyers taking part.
Vanessa Christie and Edward Greenspan represented former Vancouver Police Chief Terry Blythe and retired Deputy Chief John Unger.
They received a framed cartoon from all the Inquiry’s Vancouver-based lawyers.
The gesture outraged family members who lost a loved one to Pickton, including Lori-Ann Ellis, “Where’s our gifts for sitting here all this time? Where’s our attention that we need now, the families when this is all going on? Mr. Greenspan’s in Toronto, gets paid a bazillion dollars. If he wants a frickin’ picture, he can buy his own, as far as I’m concerned. I wasn’t impressed.”
Ellis first reported her sister-in-law, Cara, missing in 1998.
