The leader of the BC Tories calls Premier’s defence of CLBC raises “bizarre”

The leader of the BC Conservative party says the premier’s response to pay raises being handed out at Community Living BC is “outragous” and “bizarre.”

John Cummins says for the premier to defend bonuses for executives while families wait for services they deserve is inexcusable

“It is hardly business like it sounds like you know the defence lawyer reaching to provide some sort of an alibi for the accused it just doesn’t make any sense at all and if this is the way the government of British Columbia is run it is small wonder that the public is so disenchanted with the liberals.”

Cummins says he understands why there would be so much outrage over the issue.

“people who are outraged that these bonuses were being paid when people weren’t getting the benefits that they deserved and then to find that these benefits have been rolled over into salary is simply an outrage and for her to think that this is a defensible action is just inexcusable.”

Cummins says he can’t even understand why a bonus system would even exist at CLBC considering their mandate.

He says their needs to be a realistic look at the management structure of CLBC to see if people are getting value for dollar.
