Thousands rally in support of striking teachers

Thousands of teachers and their supporters have wrapped up a boisterous rally outside the BC legislature.

The teachers are on day two of a three day walkout.

The protestors carried placards saying things like “Kill Bill 22”.

BCTF President Susan Lamber calls the bill a “brutal” piece of legislation, and another indication of the arrogance of the Clark government.

BC Federation of Labour President JIm Sinclair tells CKNW people from many different unions attended the rally…this is a larger issue than the current dispute with teachers.
