Translink is “taking a step back” from its decision to cancel the Taxi Saver program, which subsidizes taxi’s for handy dart users.
Instead, it will consult with stakeholders, after close to 200 people packed its annual general meeting to express outrage.
Translink CEO Ian Jarvis suggests the process taken to come to the decision wasn’t the best one.
“clearly, when took that decision forward to the board we hadn’t done enough to understand the implications….we’re starting re-engaging with folks that are impacted by that decision as we move forward…we really need their help in coming up with solutions that enable us to use the resources we have to provide more services to those hat need it.”
Jarvis says what they do next will depend on the results of this consultation process.
