Under existing zoning, how much room does the City of Vancouver have for more housing?
Councillor Adriane Carr plans to table a motion next week to find out.
“What do we have, in terms of capacity in different zoning types, of different kinds of housing types that we could build out in the city? Then we can make wise decisions in my mind, around whether we have to increase the density zoning that we would zone, or not.”
Carr says there’s been lots of community push-back on high-rise developments, and people should know whether the city needs that type of development – or could instead pursue other options.
