Police in Vancouver are looking for up to three suspects after half a million dollars in sterling silver was swiped from the backseat of a car.
Last week, a trade show exhibitor had parked his rental car in the 900 block of West Broadway and went for dinner.
When he returned about 45 minutes later, he discovered someone had broken in and stolen five suitcases, containing $ 500,000 worth of sterling silver jewellery.
Constable Lindsey Houghton says it looks like the thief pried or forced the driver’s door open.
He says “all of the jewellery is marked with the wholesaler’s markings ‘SSK.’ If anyone or any business has any suspicious dealings involving sterling silver jewellery with the markings ‘SSK,’ they’re asked to call investigators.”
Houghton says witnesses spotted a south asian man, wearing a grey zip-up, black ball cap and black gloves break into the car
He adds two other men may have been involved in the theft.
