History is looking to repeat itself as Vancouver inches closer to having a permanent farmers’ market again.
The site, near Main and Terminal, will be where the last permanent farmers’ market was way back in 1910, according to councillor Andrea Reimer.
She says a group of non-profits have banded together to bring back the “new city market.”
“That process took another step forward this past week after..over the last year they have been developing a business case the city was very happy with the business case they pulled together VanCity has invested significantly in it and this past week we did what is called a flow through grant with VanCity move to the next step.”
Reimer says shovels will likely go into the ground on this project sometime during this term of council.
