Port Moody records third fatal shooting since May

A 32-year-old man has now died after he was shot this morning in Port Moody. Police say it happened around 10 a.m. at Wallace Wynd and Ailsa Avenue in the Glenayre neighbourhood. "Brazen and deplorable." That is how Surrey RCMP are describing a shooting in broad daylight in front of a daycare. Surrey mounties are dealing with a shooting at King George Boulevard and 68th Avenue. One man has been shot. He was apparently in a parked vehicle when it happened. Coroner’s inquest to begin into 2011 shooting death in Downtown Eastside

A coroner's inquest is set to begin today into the case of a man shot dead a year ago by Vancouver police officers in the Downtown Eastside. 48-year-old Darrell Elroy Barnes was fatally shot by an officer last July at Powell Street and Gore Avenue.
