Most people want to keep politics out of their movie rentals

One social media specialist says he doesn’t necessarily think a Twitter campaign will keep the online movie provider, Netflix from supporting the controversial U-S Bill, SOPA or Stop Online Piracy Act.
Dave Texeira says he thinks the online campaign will bring some attention to the issue but ultimately will not stop Netflix from supporting the bill in the future, perhaps when the legislation is re-written, “But I think what is going to be happening is you’re going to see more and more organizations such as Netflix, and such as we’ve seen with Facebook get politically active. Because at the end of the day, if you can get the legislation in your favour, it could certainly help your bottom line.”

A hashtag on Twitter has been advocating boycotting Netflix after the movie provider created a ‘political action committee’ which allows them to raise money for what it claims, are concerns in their industry.

In response to fears that Netflix is supporting SOPA, the provider has said it will not necessarily support the bill.
