A man armed with a gun and a knife has surrendered peacefully to local police in the Okanagan community of Chase, east of Kamloops.
The man in his 50’s entered the local Royal Bank branch, he allowed all customers and staff to exit safely.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says they still don’t know what his motives were, “With respect to who this individual is, this has not been concretely established. The motives for his actions or his behaviours are unknown at this time.”
The standoff began after 4:30 pm and ended by 11:30 pm.
