Park Board passes motion to look at use and revenue of Langara Golf Course

The Vancouver Park Board has passed a motion to look into who uses the Langara Golf Course and examine revenue in depth, ahead of potentially using the land for alternative green space.

Despite speaker after speaker expressing support for Langara Golf Course at a Park Board meeting, Commissioner Aaron Jasper maintains it’s worth considering alternative uses for that land.

“Will it always be a golf course for the next 200 years, or at some point is it even possible that some golf course land could be used for other uses? I don’t think it hurts to ask such a question.”

The motion passed states the report cannot be used for repurposing the land for residential or commercial use, but there is no guarantee Langara will remain a golf course.
