Party bus industry getting plenty of scrutiny

A woman whose sister died after being on a party bus is welcoming the attention the issue is getting even though something should have been done much earlier.

Danielle Raymond says it is almost an unspoken rule in the party bus industry that they cater to teens not legally able to drink.

Raymond says the current laws, which are crystal clear, are being ignored by party bus companies and their drivers, “Right now, to my knowledge, really nothing is done. It is just, sort of, left up to the party buses and they say that they don’t allow. But really, what their policy is on paper and what they actually do are two completely different things. Clearly, right now, the party bus companies themselves and the drivers don’t do their due diligence.”

Raymond’s sister, 16-year old Shannon Raymond, died in 2008 after being on a party bus, drinking and taking Ecstasy.
