Teachers issue rallying cry

The lawn of the BC Legislature is set to be packed with union supporters Tuesday as teachers take their fight to Victoria.

Federation of Labour boss Jim Sinclair on what he expects: “There’s going to be thousands of people there, and working people are going to join with teachers, other union members and the public.”

Sinclair wouldn’t give a clear answer when asked whether other public-sector unions could join the teachers in job action, “This isn’t just an issue about teachers now. This is about all workers, and our right to free collective bargaining agreements; and not have governements tear them up. We just can’t keep doing that in the Province.”

The rally starts at noon.
