The leader of the BC Conservative party says an investigation should be launched into the BC government and their relationship with a donor.
John Cummins says there are unanswered questions about the relationship between Eminata group founder Peter Chung and the BC Liberals.
Cummins says MLA Harry Bloy did the right thing in resigning from cabinet after leaking an email from the province newspaper to the Eminata group, but “Simply having Mr. Bloy resign is not enough I think that there are issues surrounding this organization it is in the public interest to know if other documents were shared between the government and this Eminata group the appropriate investigation should take place to clear the air.”
Cummins says to further raise concern chung is a long time donor to the BC Liberals.
He said “There is also this question about the relationship between this group, this Eminata group and the government thy have been a prominent donor, significant donor, in the past so you have to wonder you know if more has gone on.”
He says when you look at cases like the failure of the Telus deal for the naming rights to BC Place the government can’t be trusted to come clean with information, so an investigation is the only avenue to clear the air when it comes to the Eminata group.
