The political career of former Solicitor General Kash Heed – may soon be over.
CKNW has confirmed Heed won’t be running in Vancouver-Fraserview in next year’s provincial election.
In an interview with the Asian Journal newspaper, Heed calls the decision an “easy one.”
Heed slams the bureaucracy, saying “he continually hit roadblocks as to why we could not do something.”
He also criticizes the government for making decisions “based on the interests of politics, not based on really what we should be doing.”
But Heed himself was no stranger to controversy during his time in Victoria – briefly serving in cabinet before stepping down 2010.
The next year, a Supreme Court Judge fined Heed $ 8,000 for surpassing his campaign spending limit.
His former campaign manager, Barinder Sall, then alleged $ 40,000 in overspending that had not been accounted for, but Heed was cleared – and the Chief Electoral Officer deemed the case to be closed.
