Proposed cuts in BC Ferries sailings bad news for casual workers

The BC Ferry and Marine Workers Union says cutting 400 sailings a year will take a big toll on casual workers. President Richard Goode says those people are bound, by contract, to be available to work, but won’t be given shifts.He adds the union is just about to go into wage re-opener discussions with the Ferry Corp., and thinks the budget shortfall is the perfect reason to deny workers …
