A 25-year old Chinese national living in Richmond has now been charged with first degree murder in the death of his mother.
Yuan Xi Tang is accused of killing 47 year old Lianjie Guo in June before reporting her missing to police.
The 47 year old victim was visiting him with her husband when she was killed.
Her remains were found in a suitcase near Harwood Island off Powell River in July.
Police are not saying why they believe Tang killed her, but he’s also been charged with plotting to kill his father, who returned to China June 9th.
Tang will be prosecuted in Canada.
