The leader of the BC Conservatives says a name change for the BC Liberals won’t solve anything

A move by the BC Liberals to take a serious look at changing their name before the next election is making the leader of the provincial Conservatives smile.

John Cummins says if this is the best the Liberals can do after two by-election defeats then they really are teetering on the brink.

He said “It doesn’t matter whether they call them the mafia or the Cosa Nostra we all know who you are talking about. It doesn’t matter what you call them they are still the Liberals and it is still the same old gang who have been deceitful in the past that, you know, can’t manage the affairs of the province very well that created in British Columbia the highest taxed families west of Quebec.”

Cummins says the Liberals reaction after the two by-election losses has been a head scratcher “You know there response to their by-election defeats was simply bizarre rather than saying what is it we have to do to reconnect with the people they approach us about a merger and then they think about a name change, like, there is something fundementally wrong with these people.”

Premier Christy Clark says the party is looking seriously at a name change, and have even polled Liberal members across the province.
