Eight year old in hospital after being struck by car while crossing the street

An eight year old is in hospital after getting hit by a car while crossing the street in Surrey just before 6pm Sunday. It happened on 140th Street and 74th Avenue, and RCMP say the girl was in the crosswalk, the walk light still flashing.
